While sitting on several panels at conventions, a common theme for new authors is they don’t know how to format a manuscript. To make things easy, here are a couple of blank pre-formatted manuscript templates for you to use. These are in Rich Text Format (.RTF), and can be imported into Word, Open Office, and any other quality word processing software.
Best of luck on your submissions, and make sure you include an introductory blurb/note when you submit your work. Editors will appreciate your taking the time to use standard template formats and introducing yourself.
Note that some publishers want slightly different versions of the Shunn template, so make sure you tweak the settings as needed. Examples include using Courier New instead of Times New Roman, or they may prefer 10-point fonts instead of 12.
