Another AnomalyCon has come and gone, and I’m filled with a bit of melancholy. I miss hanging out with my author and artist friends.

I’ll update my panel listings page later this week. I was on quite a few, and with the usual conflicting panel information all larger cons have, I did get to participate on several fun ones and a couple of new topics.

One very cool thing the folks at AnomalyCon did this year was to come up with a set of trading postcards. Several authors and artists were anonymously paired up. The authors had to write a 200-word story, and the artists had to come up with a picture for the reverse side of the card. I was extremely fortunate to get paired with Kathryn S. Renta. She painted a picture that truly captured the essence of the story I wrote.
If you’re looking for a cover artist, consider Kathryn. She’s brilliant and knows how to pull out the important images that matches the interior of the book.

One of the cool things is Tonya, my far better half, participated on quite a few panels, plus she was a judge in the cosplay contest. She looked absolutely beautiful (as usual), and she put together a different pirate look at the last minute on Sunday. She’s working on several cosplay and costuming books, which will come out later this year. She’s also writing a poetry book with my youngest daughter, Pickle. Congratulations to both of them!

As for me, I have quite a bit of stuff coming out this year. I co-wrote a short story with Kevin J. Anderson for the upcoming Unidentified Funny Objects 3 anthology. My spooky short story, Grubstake, will be appearing in “Supernatural Colorado”. Another short story, Desperate Sparkles, will appear in the “These Vampires Don’t Sparkle” anthology, edited by Dana Bell. My flash fiction story, Strangelet, with a Tuckerization of Greg Hall (aka The Funky Werepig), will appear in Apokrupha’s “Vignettes from the End of the World” anthology.
Several books are in the works, including a new collection of my published short stories, a couple of non-fiction titles, and several novels. I expect to have six books published this year, at the minimum.

Villainous Press has a total of 114 titles in the Bowker’s catalog. When the ebooks are released, that will boost VP’s catalog to almost 200. Lots of work ahead, including doing some conversions for Kevin J. Anderson’s and Rebecca Moesta’s house, Wordfire Press.
